Spicy Chocolate Cashew Shake plus new breakfast and lunch regime

SPICY CHOCOLATE CASHEW SHAKE

Rarely do I put ice into a smoothie. I don’t like the freeze on my throat and my blender doesn’t do ice well. So a shake it is. And a good one at that. I always did like milk shakes, till McDonald’s changed the landscape with their impossible to draw through a straw shakes that were more like soft-serve ice-cream in a drinking cup. How dare they!!

New breakfast and lunch regimen: After drinking a 12 oz. glass of filtered water taken with a capsule of red cayenne pepper for pain control upon rising (I think the capsaicin is helping to a degree so I keep on it) I make a milkshake. Today it is spicy so I’m thinking I’ll stick with this version for a period of time till it bores me, while subbing in various plant milks for variety. Give it a try; you might like it too.

Grilled Cheese and Pepper Tortilla Sandwich

TORTILLA GRILLED CHEESE AND PEPPERS 3

GRILLED CHEESE AND PEPPER TORTILLA SANDWICH

Veggie cheese and sweet red roasted pepper between two 6 inch flour tortillas pan-grilled in vegetable oil to perfection! Served with cornichon dill pickle! A little fattening? A little. But it’s so good, and you only want one, right?

Okay, I confess, I had two – Lilly Belle helped eat them though (no excuse). I didn’t eat breakfast and I was planning on no supper. So what happened old wise one? I had a totally fat-free salad, dressing and all (new experimental recipe made in the Fat-Free Lab), then when Steve got home (our Friday night on Sunday night), Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold, no potato chips (salted we call them) and a little red wine – I’ll get back on the rest!

Ingredients:

chopped hearts of romaine lettuce

tomatoes

orange wedges

sliced sweet onion

sliced radishes

sliced Japanese cucumber

diced green pepper

sliced celery

soy bacon bits

mixed nut crumbles

fresh ginger sticks

pumpernickel bread croutons

chopped fresh basil

extra virgin olive oil and Balsamic vinegar plus choice of bottled dressing

Some fresh ginger sticks, a few walnuts, some fresh spinach and a fat-free dressing created a nice lunch combined with the apple and carrot cut into tiny julienne style pieces. Fresh, succulent plus an attractive presentation! The addition of the walnuts makes this lunch salad mostly fat-free!

SAUERKRAUT FOR LUNCH?

SAUERKRAUT FOR LUNCH? 

That’s what I do some days – only I draw it out – a forkful at a time or two, then back to work, then in awhile some more figuring I’m doing my body good with all those natural probiotics from the fermentation process and I do like sauerkraut.

Raw is new to me, but now that I’ve tried it and liked the result, it’s going to be a staple in my pantry|refrigerator.

If you don’t live in Cleveland, you won’t be eating Cleveland Raw, but I’ll bet there’s a place near you where the pickin’s are pretty good, so give it a try. I think you’ll probably like the result too.

And it’s FAT-FREE!
