This is my gluten-free, bread-free, animal-free, low-fat stuffing. It’s made stove-top, so you don’t take up room in the oven while roasting veggies, plant-meat roasts etc. How can nutrient-dense tastes so good? Because you know who engineered it that way!

SHARON’S FIZZ FIX

HOMEMADE CARBONATED WATER

16 oz. glass

1/2 t. baking soda

1/2 t. malic acid

1/4 t. taurine powder

filtered water

Place baking soda, malic acid and taurine powder in bottom of glass. Fill with chilled filtered water and watch the bubbles. Stir if you like. Now, enjoy a healthy naturally carbonated beverage. Cheers!

Occasionally I reduce the baking soda and malic acid to 1/4 teaspoon each. See how much you like for your carbonated water.

What can I say; I like carbonated water. When I make my own, I know what’s in it.

It’s a cheap way to get a FIZZ FIX.

Each glass is made to order.

It won’t melt away that twenty pounds excess fat you carry around with you. But not everything has to be geared to losing fat. Sometimes you just want to enjoy something for what it is without having to think about your fat.

Cranberry Coconut Frozen Custard

CRANBERRY COCONUT FROZEN CUSTARD

Smooth as custard. Rich as cream. Perfect scoop. An easy make!

Makes 3-1/2 cups


14 oz. can whole cranberry sauce – I used Ocean Spray

11 oz. container SO Delicious Dairy Free Culinary CoconutMilk – Original, chilled till thick

1/2 c. Rich’s COFFEE RICH Non-Dairy Creamer

16 oz. POM Blueberry Pomegranate juice

2 T. vanilla – I used imitation

1 c. light brown sugar

1-1/2 t. malic acid

1 t. guar gum powder

2 t. xanthan gum powder

1/2 t. pink Himalayan salt


Combine cranberries, culinary coconutmilk and Rich’s creamer in food processor and process till smooth.

Add pomegranate juice, brown sugar, vanilla and malic acid and process again till smooth.

Add guar gum, xanthan gum and salt, then process again, this time till thickened. Let set for about 10 minutes, then process again till silky smooth and thickened.

Side Effects & Benefits Of Malic Acid

Malic acid is an organic compound that is naturally found in fruits such as apples. It is often taken as a supplement, especially for the treatment of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. Malic acid is known for its ability to increase energy and tolerance to exercise. This is because it is an essential component in the Krebs cycle, which is how our bodies convert food into energy, according to the “Journal of Nutritional Medicine”.

Generally Safe

Since malic acid is naturally occurring and is found in many fruits that we eat safely every day, it is generally regarded as safe. There are no serious or dangerous side effects known or reported regarding malic acid in regular recommended doses, but it is still a good idea to speak with your doctor before taking any new supplements.

Gastrointestinal Problems

Although they are a rare and mild side effect, gastrointestinal problems such as bloating or cramping have been reported by some people who have utilized malic acid supplements, states the Journal of Nutritional Medicine. To avoid gastrointestinal side effects, take malic acid with plenty of water and continue drinking to stay hydrated throughout the day. To prevent gastrointestinal problems, don’t take any dose of malic acid higher than your doctor recommends.

Reduction of Pain

For people who suffer from fibromyalgia and/or chronic fatigue syndrome, eating foods high in malic acid or supplementing with malic acid has been shown to reduce muscle pain and muscle soreness, according to the Journal of Nutritional Medicine. This reduction of pain has been noted to be increased by the addition of a magnesium supplement, along with the malic acid. Some patients with fibromyalgia have noted a relief from pain as early as within 48 hours of taking a malic acid supplement.
