Baked Bean Cracker Canapes

When you feel like cheese and crackers but have no cheese. Or when you want no-cheese to be the theme. Baked beans on a cracker topped with prepared horseradish and/or a spot of mustard satisfies as much or guess what, even more than the traditional you know what!!

Makes as many as you want

Use your favorite baked or stove-top baked bean recipe. Use the whole recipe for a crowd or take a portion of it for your lunches or bite-type suppers.

Reheat your baked bean recipe till nearly all liquid evaporates, then refrigerate till cold, preferably overnight. Now you have canape-worthy baked bean topping whenever you want it.

Drop 2-3 teaspoons onto each cracker. Top with a spot of prepared horseradish. If you want more zing, apply a spot mustard and/or ketchup.

Try a sweet or sour pickle slice (or chopped) on top. Or a half of Kalamata or green pitted olive. Or a square of red roasted pepper. Or some chopped sweet onion.

Stop and enjoy today! Are you talking to me? No I’m talkin’ to me. Now you’re in on it.
