Did You Know The Brain Is 60 Percent Fat?

For those who have been told over the years that brains don’t bleed, they’re wrong. Brains have small blood vessels throughout the solid tissues.

Composition of brain besides the obvious nerve tissues:

Water about 75 percent overall.

Fat is nearly 60 percent of the solid tissues.

Protein is the second largest matter second to water.

Carbohydrates act as a precursor to the creation of neurotransmitters, as well as fuel for the brain.

“Yes, carbohydrates are a necessary fuel source for the brain:

Brain energy: The brain’s primary energy source is glucose, which comes from carbohydrates. The brain needs a steady supply of glucose to function properly, and low blood sugar can cause symptoms like poor memory, blurred vision, and slurred speech.

Brain cell energy: Brain cells, or neurons, require twice as much energy as other cells in the body.

Carbohydrate types:
Not all carbohydrates are the same, and whole grains like brown rice are a good source of brain energy.

Other benefits:
Carbohydrates can also help with weight management when combined with a high-fiber, low-fat diet.

The body converts carbohydrates into glucose for immediate energy, and into glycogen or fat for storage. However, the brain can’t store glucose like other organs and muscles. When blood glucose levels drop, the body activates the sympathetic nervous system, which increases the production of glucose by the liver.”

Maybe because the brain is made up of sixty percent fat, humans like to eat it. Not a good idea if you’re the target. Better to get your fat sources from plants. Cultures can change quickly when the planet is under assault as it’s been since 9-11. What is not that common one day may become common the next. Humans could show up more often on the menus in any culture.
