Coffee and Molasses

Coffee and molasses? There’s something about those two, especially when the coffee is served black, they just hit it off!

1- Drizzle a little molasses into your cup of hot coffee.

2- Add a wedge of fresh orange and you’ve got a party in a cup.

I drink my coffee plain – black – but every now and then I like to spark it up. This is one way to get the sweet and not feel guilty about it. At least the molasses contains more minerals and a lower glycemic index.

It probably doesn’t make much difference between sugar and molasses, since the amount is small anyway, but the flavor action between the coffee and molasses tells a different story of intrigue.

I use a dark roast for the coffee.
