Determine Your Percentage Of Body Fat

BMI or Body Mass Index determines your percentage of body fat. The less fat, the better.

You need to measure your weight and height. My weight is 127 pounds and my height is 5 feet 8 inches.

from Google: A Body Mass Index (BMI) of 5 feet 8 inches and 127 pounds is approximately 19.3, which falls into the normal weight category. You can calculate BMI by converting your height to inches (68 inches), squaring that number (4624), dividing your weight (127) by that value (127 ÷ 4624 ≈ 0.02746), and finally multiplying by 703 (0.02746 x 703 ≈ 19.3).  

BMI Calculation Steps

  1. Convert Height to Inches: 5 feet 8 inches = (5 x 12) + 8 = 68 inches. 
  2. Square Your Height in Inches: 68 x 68 = 4624.
  3. Divide Your Weight by the Squared Height: 127 ÷ 4624 ≈ 0.02746.
  4. Multiply by 703: 0.02746 x 703 ≈ 19.3. 

BMI Categories 

  • Underweight: Below 18.5
  • Normal Weight: 18.5–24.9
  • Overweight: 25.0–29.9
  • Obese: 30.0 and above
