Yes, there’s a change in my morning coffee alright! I made one of those executive decisions again, making my coffee my breakfast.
I large cup fresh brewed coffee with:
- 1 t. beet root powder
- 1 t. turmeric
- 1 t. unsweetened powder cocoa
- 1 t. green tea powder
- a couple shakes cinnamon
It has to be hot in order to incorporate the powders. That’s fine. I don’t drink cold coffee first thing in the morning.
Unless I drink it all at once, unlikely, I have to stir it now and then to reincorporate the wet powders that sink to the bottom of the cup – not a problem.
Usually I have some residue left by the time I pour my second cup, and just stir it up into it.
The addition of cinnamon has a binding effect, so I don’t use as much as the other powders, just a few shakes, otherwise I end up with a gelatinous glob at the bottom when the coffee is gone, which then I have to essentially eat or swallow like a raw egg.
I’m okay with the inconvenience, since It keeps me from being hungry for a couple of hours which was what I was looking for – breakfast in my coffee cup is the result.
I figure all those roots, beans, bark and leaves all ground up was just what the progressive nutritionist might order.
Give it a try; see what you think.
