It’s Friday so Steve and I go to the market, drink a couple Great Lakes Beers, then head on over to El Jalpeno Mexican restaurant to share a guacamole, salsa and chips with another beer.

As evidenced by this Friday’s menu I did not do Fat-Free on Fat-Free Friday. Coulda’ picked a better day. Maybe I should be fasting on Friday. Like that would work any better. Catchy slogans don’t often work if they go against the grain of established policy – in other words Friday is a going out on the town day. Such as, what are you doing Friday night? Oh, I thought I’d go fat-free over at such and such a place. They have great beer – because that’s about all you’ll get that’s fat-free when eating out – alcohol. If I thought animal-free was difficult to achieve on the restaurant scene, fat-free is even more difficult. But hey, go out when you want to go out. I still stayed at 28% fat calorie to total calorie ratio, and that’s what everybody screams about.
I might work in a fasting day, but I’m not ready for that yet. I tried it several times in the recent past and I didn’t get through the day, so I figure I have to prepare my system for it. I’ve done it before. I went on a hunger strike for about three weeks years ago to protest the slaughter of deer in the Metro Parks, so I’m familiar with it. Remember, I don’t want to shock my system only to feel deprived and right now I don’t.
The bottom line is I lost 4 fat pounds the first week of my rapid fat-loss diet.
Now, I switch to once a week weigh-ins on Friday. Weighing everyday is too stressful for me.
