GINGER GARLIC TOMATO REBOOT

Fat-free medicine. It’s super hot from the garlic and ginger, so you need the bread or some other carbohydrate to chew it with. Any bread will do. I also like it with Russian black bread. Do not serve this to guests. It’s personal.

Makes 3-1/2 cups

1 T. extra virgin olive oil

1 sm. whole bulb of garlic, peeled and sliced

2 thumb sizes fresh ginger, peeled and cut into match stick sizes

sea salt and fresh grind black pepper

2, 14 oz. cans diced tomatoes in tomato sauce

seve. leaves fresh basil

3/4 c. fresh orange squeeze, strained

fresh sliced basil leaves

toast points of choice


Combine all ingredients in saucepan, partially cover and cook over medium heat till garlic and ginger lightly soften.

Serve topped with fresh basil and surrounded by small cuts of toasted bread of choice.
